I am a little breathless at the moment. I bought a house today.

It's a nice one story house on a culdesac with a golf course behind it, a long tree-shaded back and side yard, 2 bedrooms, one smaller "bedroom" that I'll use as an office, a living and dining room, a family room, a garage and attick, new roof (year old), a year old airconditioning system, really nice, extremely well maintained lawn by the homeowners association, a clubhouse and access to the lake (the same lake I already live on, but on a different part of it), beautiful kitchen counters, hurricane shutters, and the whole place is in really good condition. Mind condition, even.

I passed by it this afternoon with the sale by owner sign and open house, and I came home and had to think about what I was going to do, if I was even going to go back and look at it. I wound up talking to Julix and I revealed to her that I was seriously nervouse about going back to look at it. Because if I bought it, it would mean many changes, many new risks and responsibilities which I have wanted to avoid getting myself into, and yada yada yada. She urged me to go and look and not let fear hold me back. I went back and toured the house with the owner and really liked the place. The bedrooms are smaller than my current bedrooms, and that is hard to get used to, but at least I have so much extra room to put my desk in the office and use other parts of the house for the things in my bedroom.

I called my mortgage broker, a friend of my mother's who is getting me a loan with no cut to him, solely as a favor to my deceased mother, and he met me at the house and was highly impressed with the quality of the house and how well it had been taken care of. And he had already previously urged me to rush and buy something, and promised me that he will get me a loan that I can afford without a doubt.

I am pretty nervouse right now. I think that for the first time in a very long time, I need to get drunk tonight. LOL. Probably I won't, but I'm thinking about it.

Cool, Breea, thats wonderful of ya! Of course, like I told you on YIM, the 2 bedrooms are seperated by 2 bathrooms and 2 closets (one of each for each room), so that's not an option.

Oboy, I had so much work to do over the next few weeks, all the things that I've put off for 9 months that will take months to do, I now have to do in a month. Oy vey!

You want the AG dept to work on reconstruction? LOL he would have sheep grazing in teh living room. Better to check with the Carpentry shop.

If he needs to work on his yard, then he should get the Ag Deptarment involved especially when he has to start shoveling manure.

Maybe your AG Department is different than our Ag Department. What's a flood? My one son took Ag for a semester in High School and they did no building. Now the Auto shop worked on vehicles and the Carpentry worked on houses, etc. I guess our kids are more specialized. While I did not take AG in school, I lived in the country next to a dairy farm, I have convinced a calf to go back through a hole in the fence when I was 11 or 12 and I was driving tractors at 9. Oh yeah, I also have shoveled natures best fertilizer when I was 7.

 Cool

well my mornings consisted of getting up at 3am..bringing in the cows..milking them either by machine or if the power was out by hand..Then fed the horses.pigs and chickens before breakfast..got ready for school...after school..same routine...LOL  on weekends we went to the neighbors farms where we either castrated calves or sheep.

And God do i miss those days.

You mean you didn't help fry up some mountain oysters?

I do miss the early morning smell of the Dairy farm drifting over. Sometimes when it rains we do get it but mostly not. Wife hates it, I love it takes me back to easier times<g>

BTW I never use the descented ferterlizer. That's for city slickers.

A word to the wise. Don't step in nothin you can't wipe off.

Maybe 1 or 2 and they probably have country roots.

I have have 4 pairs of shoes. A pair of loafers worn once by my son 3-4 years ago, a pair of slip on rough outs and 2 pairs of Ropers (used to be called Wellingtons about 30 years ago). When I really get comfortable, a pair of moccasins.
