I've missed out on most of Smallville, but I did see the Aquaman episode.  I wasn't impressed.  Now that Smallville's out on DVD, I may Netflix it... though I understand the early seasons were better.

I never read Aquaman as a kid (or as an adult), so I really only know him from Superfriends, and his VERY different incarnation in Justice League.

Still, I say bring back Shazam!  Wink

I read the Flash, Aquaman, Superman, Superboy, Super Girl, Hawkman, Green Lantern, Phantom and Spirderman as well as Fantastic Four and X men. when I was a kid.

So far Smallville messes them up.

I also remember watching Isis on TV.

Hey CT I didn't know you were a Gomer Pile fan. SHAZAM!

Aquaman was always underutilized on Super Friends and Justice League.  The only usefulness he had was in water, which the writers had to go out of their way just to include him for.

I always thought he had such potential on his own.  He never should have joined a group to become one of the original 7 Justice League of America.

Now Zan mentions Isis on tv.  I assume you are talking about the cartoon.  I was really young when that came out, it's one of the first cartoons that I can remember.  But guess who did voice work on one of the episodes?

Laurette Spang.  Small world, huh.

Now debating Marvel vs. DC.  I was always at DC fan to start with in the Justice League.  But then I started reading X-Men.  It seemed like the X-Men were a team, while the Justice League was an all star team that didn't work well together.  I also loved how Marvel comics focused on the downside of being a hero, as well as not winning every battle.

And then CT mentions Shazam.  He kind of got put in the shadow of Superman, which isn't fair.  The whole mythology of Shazam made him a VERY cool character.  I saw the old serials on vhs in the 40's.

But guess what, there is a Shazam movie in development!

There was an ISIS live action television series that was on during the early 1970's.  Joanna Cameron played Isis.  When she was in her mortal form as the archaeoligist/teacher, she looks like an original Lara Croft. Cheesy

It's too bad that Filmation refuses to revisit the live action SHAZAM and ISIS.  Having watched the bonus SHAZAM episode that came with my Wonder Woman Season 3 boxed set, I was actually impressed at how good the show actually was....and it was as cool as I remember when I was a kid.   The only really untrained actor on that show seemed to be Captain Marvel (Jason Bostwick) himself....and it kinda shows.  But everyone else did great.

Respectfully,

Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter went to high school here in Phoenix (Arcadia High) and one of my team members went to school with her.
