I have recently realized something.

Is the glass half empty, or half full?

It is half empty.

Not being negative, am I, but logical.

See, if a person is drinking from a glass, it is more than likely than he will not fill it up again until it is first fully empty. Or, put the glass in the dishwasher when done.

So, when the glass is half full, we know that it will not fill further on its own, but it is logical and more so, inevitable, that the drinker will finish it, thus emptying it further.

Thus when we see the glass with the beverage lever at midpoint, it is unlikely that it will be filled again until emptied, but yet inevitable that it will indeed be emptied. Therefore, it is half empty.

On the other hand, though the half empty glass is bound to be emptied by another half, it may be inevitable as well that at that immediate point it will quickly be refilled again, meaning that the glass must be emptied before it is filled; so that every act of filling first relies on the act of emptying so that the two instances compliment each other and make each other possible, like a causation loop, causing and repeating itself; causing the repeat, and repeating the cause.

That was my deep thought of the day.  And now my head hurts.
