As for me so far I love starfest........the people are so cool.  I saw so many good costumes!  Hoping to get some pictures!  I was handing out some of the flyers with Dirk and Laurette's pictures on them promoting their websites and had such great and wonderful feedback.  One fan even said, upon getting the flyers, "now here is the real deal!!!!"  Kind of made my day.  Just because it proved to me that there are still people who love the same show I do even all these years later.  How many other shows that are 27 years old (and only ran 1 season) have that kind of following??   Cheesy  Cheesy  Cheesy  Cheesy I am a happy camper!

one thing that was so typical though.............
there were two women walking in front of me who were obviously not with starfest, because they kept whipering to themselves afterseeing someone in costume "did you see THAT?' they were just horriified and they were snickering to themselves.  Then one said "I kind of liked Star Trek, but not THAT much!!" and I am thinking to myself..this is so typical of the attitiude sci-fi fans run into.  Then the two women meet up with their table of people and ask "did you guys remember your lightsabers' very sarcastically....and they all laugh.

As I was telling hubby about this he said are Sci-fi people the only people on earth that know how to have fun?Huh?  I say YES indeed we are!!!!

Julix,

Sounds like you are having a good time at the con.

Don't worry about the SciFi Muggles.  It's something they just wouldn't understand.

I have some questions for you.

How is attendance?  Do you have a ballpark number?

How much is Shat charging for an auto?

Is there any cool Battlestar Galactica swag in the dealer's room?  Any auto's?

Enjoy!

ok..........
Wow, that was Amazing !!!!!!!!!!!! The "Shat" is truely incredible.  If you have never seen him in person, you are missing out even if you are not a big fan of his.  He was so wonderfully entertaining, witty, and had everyone in the palm of his hand!  It was just wonderful.  More details to come!!  AS far as pictures........I sent Warrior a ton from the con.  None of me but my kids are in it Cheesy

"Whew"  I gotta rest Cheesy

Mike...........

There were 6000 people last year and they think the numbers were bigger this year, I agree because I went last year.  There isn't much in the way of Galactica stuff in the dealer's room.  I did get a picture of the only guy who did have stuff.  He had this really cool cylon head that talked and had a button to activate the red eye.  I got a photo of it.  Then he had a colonial warrior helmet die cast signed by Hatch......only $600.  Out ogf my league.  he had a cylon figure....I have seen them around can't think of the maker name.....they were the ones that came out a couple months ago.  He only wanted $20 but I just didn't have the funds.......I wish I would have bought it    The shat charged 40 for an autograph one of the highest I have seen but I didn't see that hold back any one.....even me.  I will tell you that story soon! Cheesy

Julix,

Thanks for the info.  $40.00 is a lot for an auto, but he's the Shat!  Definitely worth it.

Glad you had a great time.

LaCerta is the guy on The Lost Warrior that finds and controls the cylon Red Eye and runs the planet.  He was played by Claude Earl Jones and looks just like Boss Hogg with the white suit.  But without the southern accent.

ok.....so here is a little convention story......I am in line to see "the shat" and while I was waiting struck up a conversation with a fellow fan........forgot his name Sad ...I am not the best with names at times, anyway we were talking about Sci-fi etc and he was very knowledgeable...........can you imagine?  A sci-fi fan knowledgeable?Huh?   Anyway, he asked me if I had ever seen Free Enterprize".I guess it is really funny and has shatner in it.  I was wondering have any of you guys seen it?  Also, he then went on to later be the first in line to ask Shatner a question at the Q and A.  And he asked him to tell his favorite horse story.........I guess the shat loves horses.  He had just been at a charity horse event the night before.  So he proceeds to tell the most entertaining horse story.  I will see if I can hit the high points in another post........If I can do it justice.
