I suck at poems. On another forum I belong to we have fun with haiku's. They are not true in their form, we mostly just go with the 5-7-5 syllable deal. I do not pretend it to be art, but it is the closest I can come to capturing thoughts in some pretend form of poetry.
The research I have done on exotic dancers has been weird. I am seeing a side of this industry I do not think I wanted to see. I see the human being the job. Maybe we are defined by what we do, but we should not be. Anyway, here is what I hammered out.
She dances for him
He needs new shoes and to eat
Her son, her blessing.
He sees only whores
His belly and account fat
They are here for him
The goddess does cry
Tarnished angel, rusted wings
Her beauty within
He does not exist
Close eyes and be somewhere else
No tip is worth this
Barely dressed for cash
We lie and cheat wearing clothes
You cannot judge her.
Mothers are sacred
No matter the vocation
a goddess in a "g"

I remember one from James Bond.
You only live twice
Once when you are born
and once when you look death in the face.
Ok so Ian Fleming wasn't very good at poetry either

Perhaps, but he gave us an unforgettable icon.
