Scorp had a great post about the ending of both Star Wars and Star Trek............It got me thinking why doesn't Hollywood/powers that be do more Sci-fi on T.V. and even movies..............Huh??  What do you guys think?

It's too intellectual for them, it doesn’t fit into their focus groups.....hell I don’t know, studio execs have the IQ of plant life. :lol:

Perhaps the success of the Star Wars TV show next year (and it will be successful) will ignite interest in Sci-Fi on TV and we will see a slew of new Sci-Fi TV shows.

Its expensive, doesn't reap the high returns that reality TV does, and is hard to get right.
Plus its seen as geeky and fringe, so the marketting boys don't like it. Reminds them of the smart kids they secretly envied at high school.

Sci fi is looked down on by the snobs. They use cell phones, computers, fly in airplanes, etc. all products that was shown in Sci Fi movies and books.
