Now for a bit of trouble I had today, Two nights ago I had started seeing some white flashes in my left eye and thought nothing of it at first then last night night it happened again only more. Today I went in for an eye exam, boy those are no fun only this time she had to dialate the eyes. Wow, really no fun. It is so hard to stare at a bright light with your eyes dialated. So the news for now is I am okay and perhaps the viscus lining of the retina is pulling away a bit. Which is okay for now but she said it can pull away and cause a rip or a hole and this is very bad. So as I am leaving to go up to the mountains for this wedding I now how to be at DEFCON 3 with my eye and if I get floaters or black curtain vison etc I am to go immediatly to laser eye surgery with a certified opthamologist............whew, heavy sigh. So keep good thoughts for me and then she is going to dilate my eyes again on Wed and see if they still look ok,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Amiga, There will be no dancing at that wedding.

I will keep you in my prayers.

I think I told you taht my son had afractured eye socket, detached retina in 2 places and 4 rips in the retina when he was in Basic training with the Marines.

The surgeon was a Navy Commander who had done this same operation on Sugar Ray Leonard and actually called me to tell me what the surgery entailed.

So get not just an Opthamologist, get the best.

What our well-read dragon said.

The eye is nothing to fool with.  There are certain nutritional elements that aid in eye health - lutiens, or something like that (I listen to Paul Harvey occasionally) - it's a plant-based nutrient.  If I have a chance I'll follow up on it - I know that the pills Paul Harvey hawks are expensive.

We'll be thinking 'boutcha.  Keep us posted.

You are, have been, and will be in my thoughts and prayers babe, for clear sights and quick recoveries. Keep your eye on the future and know that this will soon pass.  Smiley

thanks I have been having a couple hard days and ended up at a retina specialist yesterday and he is watching me close it seems my eye is still unstable and still has the potential to rip or tear although the odds should be in my favor.  I just have to wait and see.  He said it was due to aging but at 45..........well i guess it is not the age it is the milage.............. Ocuvite - I think that's the name - is a supplement available at Costco that has some of the same stuff that the product Paul Harvey sells has, at much less cost.  My mother's ophthalmologist recommends it.

May be worth looking into.

Thinking about you!

Hey kid, you are not old.  You are just a young whippersnapper.  Smiley

Now you do as teh doc says. Take care of your eyes. That probably means not picking up heavy things like grocery bags, KIDS, cars.

When my son was recovering from detached retina, I think 10 pounds was his limit.

I know, I wanted to drive up to see you so badly too, but I was broke and so was my car, pretty much. I haven't been doing too well all around, but I'm trusting in God now and letting him lead me. How is your eye now?
