I took the day off and took three of my grandkids to the parade as they are in the Young Marines and were on the float. I went over to the Vietnam Vets group since I let my membership expire. I was invited to rejoin and March with them, which I did, proudly wearing my VVA shirt

As we marched down the street, ok walked the AFROTC guys carrying our banner kept calling cadence.

As we made our way  down towards the end, I saw a lot of Vietnam Vets, WWII Vets and Iraqui Vets in the crowd and an enthusiastic crwod, Much different than in 1969. Made us feel proud. With us a Vietnam Vet walked with his two sons (1 Army and 1 Marine) both Iraqui war vets.

I made a promise, that I will do this again next year.

Veteran's Day is November 11 or formerly Armistace Day. May 30th is Memorial Day, or Rememberance day for all of those who have shed their blood in the ultimate sacrifice for this nation.

Thi is the day to salute those who have gone before but it doesn't hurt to also recognize those who are in Harm's Way now.

Agreed. They need moral, as well as material support.
