what is kasha?

Roasted buckwheat kernels. Cook them like rice, then fry them up with onions and stuff, and serve with a little tamari soy sauce. Wonderful roasted-nutty flavor and a consistency much like hash browns. Warming, hearty, and they stick with you. Pair with a nice bowl of miso soup and you get a terrific cold-weather breakfast.
